And don't forget the broken sidewalks or sidewalks pushed up by tree roots. I guess the idea is to get pedestrians abandoning the sidewalks altogether and instead walking in the streets. And that's another way to get us out of our evil cars...

Like I said they are nice in the mornings when I leave, I drive by them and they have been charged (i assume) and situated in a clean orderly fashion and doesn't look like a friggin eyesore

I drive home and they are laying literally all over the sidewalk in the same basic area.

Can't these guys use the damn kickstand for them at least when they drop them back off instead of literally just dropping them off????

I just want the neighborhood to look decent without crap laying around the sidewalks.

I don't think that that is too much to ask.
That's me kicking them over when I walk by

Governor Brown signed a bill come January 1 helmets are optional for those scooter users 18 years of age and older. I would suppose that most police jurisdictions which had been enforcing the helmet law have stopped since it would only be seen as harassment and a money grab since the state legislature has spoken on the issue.

Nope, you have to go for it there are so many older folks with this mindset, once I show them how to ride then they get it. It's not too difficult just google it, and go for it.

One can also contact the company and set up a no go zone, but I think that's if one has a legit reason as to why they can't be there, or if one owns the property the scooters occupy.

The scooters are here to stay, and they are slowly migrating from the westside further into Central, and South LA. In a year or so I don't think anyone will notice them I say try to be optimistic, open-minded, and look at the reality of the situation to determine if they really are a problem, or it's just not being open to new things.

I think they are in the works to hopefully convert a few parking spots here and there as scooter parking spots, 15 scooters can fit in one parking spot.

I love 'em, use them all the time. Cheap, efficient, convenient, practical.

What's not to like?

If people are leaving them strewn around the sidewalks/streets, that's an upbringing issue (politeness, neatness, consideration for others), not a scooter issue (although I do understand they are trying to educate their users about it).

Have you tried one? They're fun!

Bird at least requires that all riders have a valid drivers license, and wear a helmet. What's the age for DL in CA, 18?
