Hey. I'm moving to L.A. soon for a new job and have decided to live in Santa Monica due to proximity to work and its reputation as a fun place for singles. Any recommendations for luxury apartment builds in Santa Monica with great amenities and preferably, lot of young attractive people? I'm looking for a 1-bedroom and willing to spend up to $4K/month in rent.

Thanks.

I'd definitely consider Ocean Ave., north of Wilshire, though I don't know if $4k a month is enough.

Look on Craigslist and West Side Rentals (free to browse) to get an idea of what $4k gets you in Santa Monica. It will get you a really nice place but if you want new and really high-end you’re probably looking at $5k+.

It gets you a beautiful apartment adjacent to the ocean and in a good area, yet within walking distance of the Promenade and the pier.

I always wonder - with rent the way it is nowadays - what kind of people live in those places and the jobs they have.

There are very nice apartments around Montana and Ocean. Look on 2nd and 3rd. Convenient to everything and less crazy than the pier area.

Santa Monica is a dump and getting worse by the day. Authorities have no plan to change the situation. I don't see why anyone would want to move there. You can find stories like the one below one after the other.
If you want safe coastal living move to Manhattan Beach or Malibu and commute
