I remember back in 2010, the entire metropolitan region reached 16.8 million and then 2015 was 18 million. With all the new sprawl developments being built in the San Fernando Valley and urban infill in the inner city, I’m sure we’ve reached the 20 million mark.

It’s not unusual for 30 miles one way commutes. Any thoughts on the numbers?

Not sure ... but . what we need is for more people to leave lol

I think most would argue that things were better overall when the population was smaller.

They only do the census every 5 or 10 years, so no...no idea.

*Cue Twilight Zone music*

"Imagine, if you will, a Los Angeles when you only got stuck in traffic during rush hour. A Los Angeles where you could simply drive somewhere without worrying about finding a parking space. A Los Angeles where you could water your lawn whenever you wanted. A Los Angeles where you didn't go into government buildings or neighborhood polling locations and see the same form printed in 50 different languages.

You have just entered the Twilight Zone..."

I guess some people believe that LA won't be amazing until it is as populous as Mexico City, with which it shares a lot in common.

I was wondering the same thing: for some reason I just really don't consider IE as part of Los Angeles in any way even though people do commute from IO to L.A for work. I almost feel the same about Ventura County, but can see how some of it falls under L.A. region.

For me as an outsider from Chicagoland, this seems like borders of LA region.
