This would be more nickel and diming and another tax essentially on working people.

Metro CEO Phil Washington told members of the transit agency’s congestion, highway and roads committee on Wednesday that staffers would recommend pursuing “some form” of congestion pricing at a meeting of the Board of Directors next week.

Last month, Washington suggested that funds raised through a congestion-based toll system could be used to fast-track major transit projects in time for the 2028 Olympics and to subsidize free fares on Metro trains and buses.

Washington was similarly enthusiastic Wednesday about the potential of congestion pricing to both ease traffic and get cars off the road.

Don't you just love this? Developers are allowed to run amuck, building and building and building, and now it's a matter of getting cars off the roads because we're overcrowded.

Oh, and then there's this gem from the article:

“We’re talking about saving mankind here,” he said.
Oh good grief -- I hate these people so much...

Congestion pricing is the free market solution to traffic but I never expected a truly free market solution to be embraced by Trump supporters.

1. This isn't the political forum -- see David's sticky.

2. Taking actions to "get cars off the road" is not a free market solution.

3. Why should we be punished for rampant over-development by giving up our cars?
