Hi All,

What are everyone's thoughts about amenities in Silver Lake?

Currently in SF and moving down to LA next month. Currently at an Equinox in SF with swimming pool, float tank, sauna, etc. I know Equinox only has locations in SM, WH, CC in LA.

Was looking at what amenities SL had and didn't see much - no pools, only one bodybuilding gym. Only see . TJ's in the northwest part for grocery.

What are everyone's thoughts regarding amenities in SL? I might be missing something since I've only looked on Yelp and Google Maps.

Most of Silverlake's topography is hilly, with great views of the city. Santa Moncia, West Hollywood, and Culver City, are mostly flat. Silverlake, the "Hipster" capitol of LA, is also a very old neighborhood so most homes and apartments complexes don't have pools. You'll find an assortment of trendy cafe's and boutiques throughout the area, most on Sunset Blvd. and the Sunset Junction area. As far as large supermarkets, there's Gelson's on Hyperion Ave and Ralph's on Glendale Bvd. Body Builders Gym on Hyperion Ave has been around for ages and although it could use some updating, it's very friendly with that relaxed Silverlake vibe.

If you want amenities like that you’ll probably want to be on the westside , or the nicer parts of the valley ( Studio City , Sherman Oaks etc )

Silver lake is a hip area but it is a relatively old area.
