California is lovely but it’s not worth 13.3% of my income to live there full time verses zero % to visit frequently.
Florida is lovely too ...
These tax laws were DESIGNED to bleed California, NY, NJ, MA and other high taxing liberal states.
I hope they bleed deep and profusely...
What is "six thousand thousand"? And I'm not directing this at you but but I think a good number of the people on CD who claim to pay 13.3% tax are just role playing...Multi-millionaires usually have better things to do than to spend hours a day on an anonymous internet forum telling other make believe millionaires how rich they are.

But won't call them taxes, since raising taxes has certain requirements. They'll just call them "fees".

LOL.

I just think CA sucks because of it's politics, it's traffic, and it's snotty folks (not everyone) that live there. I post here because, well, I'm retired and it's entertaining and also because I think CA sucks for the reasons I've mentioned. I will never live there again. I like to fight against socialistic governments and environments. I believe in freedom. I do thank you for my triple figure pension. YOU ARE FUNDING IT. LOL. You are funding it while your public agencies starve for money to provide you services to fix your crappiy roads and all your deadbeat homeless types that crap on your streets and fill up your park benches because that's who you love having for neighbors...oh, and all the illegals because of your sanctuary cities. Gavin is your Saviour.

Many like Kttan are stuck in California because of dead-end jobs and not wanting to leave family or medical conditions. When I tell people we're leaving Cali I'm surprised by how many would like to do the same. They're reasoning is that the state has gone down hill in so many ways. I would bet you and others have had similar experiences.

Congrats on your move. Stating facts about Cali is "bashing". Hahaha....

Hurry!

Seems all this Cali talk is depressing you. If you like the direction Cali is headed kudos to you, son.

I suggest eating healthy and getting to the gym. Take some weight off and start dating. It'll put a smile on your face. Take a walk and give that guy standing at your nearest intersection your spare change. Make his day!

I'm retired and have nothing keeping me here, no family. I do have friends. love my church, am very established, house is paid for, am old enough that even with our ridiculous taxes and constantly increasing taxes by the time I paid moving and getting re established it would possibly cost me more thans sticking it out. I don't have forever to go. Even though I hate the goverment here with a burning passion.
If they get rid of prop. 13 that will be the last straw though.

If I want some sun and beach (the Valley has the sun and who cares about the beach other than a few times a year) I can fly or drive and get that. I get out of AZ during the summer to wherever I want and still live much more cheaply here in Paradise Valley than I could with even remotely the quality of life I'd have in CA.

I vacation all over the world, so CA is no big deal. In fact, it's the opposite.

Each to his own. I do thank you for my triple figure pension though. If the state of CA (run by unions) is irresponsible enough to pay it, I'm not giving it back but I'm doing it in a state where I can buy a mansion for what it cost to live in a s:"&*%hole in CA.

Your posts sound like you're:

1.) overcompensating -- the truly "wealthy" never brag about their wealth. The truly "wealthy" never have to move to Arizona or Nevada to survive or make their money go further. The truly "wealthy" usually don't have to work for a state agency to earn a pension/retirement.

2.) in denial -- if you hated California so much and loved Arizona as much as you say you do, you wouldn't give California the time of day. You would be enjoying the offerings of Arizona so much that you would be out and engaging in them, rather than on a computer -- in a California forum, no less -- and talking about how "bad" California is. You sound like a jilted lover who is still obsessed with their ex.

3.) hypocritical -- if you love your state pension as much as you claim, then you wouldn't bash California or the state's so-called "socialist" system the way you're doing. You'd be thankful for the investment the public made in your salary and benefits. If you truly believed in the so-called "freedom" and "entrepeneurship" you keep mentioning in your posts, then you wouldn't have had to rely on the state to provide you a job, and you would have made your own money independently.

So, Keyboard Cowboy, if you love Arizona so much --and-- you're so wealthy, and you're so happy to be there, then get out and enjoy the state...go resort in Sedona, go golf with the other "millionaires" in Scottsdale, go hike the Superstitions, go up to Flagstaff and the Grand Canyon, go to a Southwestern art gallery in Tucson, go see Bisbee and Jerome!

What's stopping you? ....Or is it more like, "I hate the fact I couldn't stay in California because of my choices, so I'm going to find a way to sit on my computer and bash the state until I can sober up enough to get to Applebees and then have more drinks while I tell everyone there how 'wealthy' I am" ???

Nothing could be further from the truth! Not "stuck" at all. It sounds more like projection on your part, honestly. You sound completely miserable and like you hate your life and feel there's no way out, except to lash out online.

I love Los Angeles and California with a passion! I have given multiple reasons for why I love both: the culture, the arts, the research universities, the technology, the advancements in medicine, the tendency of people to be open-minded and global thinkers, the green initiatives, the multiculturalism, the weather, the geography, the never-ending list of entertainment and recreational options.

The only reason you think California has "gone down hill" is because you're mentally stuck in your 1980s, monochromatic California where almost everyone was white, there was a Republican governor, everyone went to church, "those people" were marginalized and had limited or no rights, etc.

Face it: you got old, you got hooked on Fox News and you got filled with anger and hatred because California changed, and not in the way you or the talking heads at Fox intended for it to.

Again, if you want to move, then please go do so! There's a plane flying out of LAX every 15 minutes...there's Penske and U-Haul facilities near you in Santa Clarita and Palmdale.

You can cry and whine about those stating facts about Cali until you're blue in your face but you're incapable of refuting these facts. You have nothing to back up your tantrums. We're simply "bashing". Like you "bash" Arizona and other states. But of course it's not bashing when you do it. Right, little guy?

Go, and re-read that once again, if you must.

What happens is that when people migrate to a state, no matter their political leanings, they increase the population.

With increased population comes the need for more housing, better roads, better health care, more schools, etc.

Of the two major parties, which one has members that have advocated all of those things? Be honest !

You can be as conservative as Rush Limbaugh in California, and rail on and on about "liberalism", and then when you finally relocate to your vaunted "Red State" and realize how terrible things are, you'll begin to scratch your head and you'll start listening to which party wants to make health care better, which party wants to invest in roads and infrastructure, which party wants more schools built, and you'll never admit it to another soul, but you go into the voting both and pull the lever for that party.

That, my dears, is what happens!

Admit it publicly, or not, but it does.
The greatest hopeful thinking that I could ever hope for: Most of the out-of-state migration to places like Idaho, Arizona and Texas are by conservatives and Republicans

If that's true, I'll be so happy and at peace.

The only thing I admit is that you ruined the state, and are in the process of ruining it further. Of course you'll disagree, but since your supermajority took hold, you can only 100% blame yourselves for everything you secretly complain about. But, as you say, it's all rosy, we are just dumb rednecks who don't have Masters in Napoleonic era French literature. Good luck, let's see how y'all do.

"Son" ?

I probably weigh 170 pounds in wet clothes? Dating isn't a problem. I don't need to give anyone spare change. The work I do is plenty fulfilling in that regard.

Care to make any other bizarre assumptions?
