Oh you mean like trump circle Manafort, Flynn, and Cohen who are facing jail time for their crimes.

I don't spend a ton of time on the LA subforum. I am starting to quickly realize that there are a lot of irrational people here who might be insecure about their choice to live in Los Angeles or California; they berate anybody who speaks obvious truths. It's really mind-boggling that there are people on this forum who will try to deny the reality that even the State of California acknowledges—California has net domestic outmigration. This is not for you to take personally. It's a fact.

They don't like facts. It makes them feel like they are stuck in a state that is quickly going downhill. They have to say they like it even if it's a bastion of socialism and an unsuccessful state. Cognitive dissonance at its finest.

No, I mean your heroes who live off other people's money. I'm rooting for Bernie to get the nomination though. That would be another McGovern type of defeat.

How ironic! An old, irrational, white guy with three houses and millions of dollars from espousing a completely failed ideology that even to liberals shouldn't make any sense. But he says he's hired some minorities on his staff. LOL.

He's living off the little guys. People gullible enough to buy his books I guess. You guys crack me up.

And why would you, if you live in Illinois?

Who cares how many people leave or come? Most of us who live here would be happy if more people moved out of California.

I'm curious, what qualifies you to make judgements about a state that you don't live in? There are 50 state forums, do you post in all of them and enlighten people with your 'realities'?

As a child, I summered with my grandparents on the PV Peninsula. My grandmother still lives there. I'm pretty familiar with Los Angeles and Orange County, manage investments in the area, and I was recently just perusing the forum looking for some information related to all of that. I almost transferred to LA permanently a few years back just out of college, but ended up in Atlanta instead.

If you didn't care about in-migration or outmigration, you wouldn't be so angrily commenting on this thread. California has net domestic outmigration. The OP mentioned it and a bunch of 'Californians' chimed in disputing a fact that the State's own data corroborates. Feel free to be indignant and bury your heads in the sand.

We know people are moving out of state, but it's not to the extent where we notice it at all.

We don't mind if someone wants to speak the obvious of the problems we face here in California, but some people over-exaggerate or paint the entire state with the same negative brush.

California is just like everywhere else..People come and go..And it has it's Positives and Negatives.

We notice it in Illinois, and I think a lot of Californians (especially white middle-class ones) would quibble with you with regard to whether or not they notice it.

Illinois gets beat up a lot too by the extreme right, so I sympathize. I haven't besmirched California at all, yet some of you are jumping down my throat.

No, it definitely is NOT LIKE EVERYWHERE ELSE. This is why.....it's headed to the trash heap. The writer's content has been what I've been thinking. At least someone finally wrote about it!! You know who you will have to thank.
