The whole idea is beyond ridiculous, this notion that my straw is going to wind up stuck in a turtle's nose. I have never in my life thrown a straw into the ocean. Yet, now I'm not allowed to have a plastic straw with my drink. By the way, will they try to ban glass next? It takes a million years for a glass bottle to decompose. Plastic is only 20 to 500 years.

Straws are particularly prone to ending up in our waterways, and ultimately the oceans, due to beach littering, wind that transports the lightweight objects from trash cans and trash collection facilities, and barges, boats, and aquatic transport vehicles.
