Hello. Just curious if anyone knows about Hancock Park or Beverlywood? How are the neighborhoods in terms of safety? There are so many areas of LA that I haven't heard of before. Thanks.

Hancock Park is filled with multi million dollar homes including the mayor's mansion. Beverlywood is adjacent. The only safer neighborhoods are Beverly Hills and Bel Air.

beverlywood is on the west side, quite a bit across town from hancock park. it's really just a subdivision, with a similar demographic to neighboring cheviot hills and rancho park. in other words, it's a nice middle-class community with an upper middle-class pricetag. it's also one of those LA-oddities: a great neighborhood with schools that aren't so hot.

maybe CESPEED meant to say that it is beverly hills adjacent, which it is...sort of.

Hancock Park is great...forget about putting your kids in public school though. Even the best neighborhood in LAUSD have to deal with the crappiest school district in SoCal. Several private schools are in and around the area so be prepared to pay.

Beverlywood is not as nice as it used to be. It is very near the mini-ghetto/barrio of West LA. May as well pay the extra money and go a little further into Cheviot Hills or Bev Hills(which has also lost its lustre)

Thank for the correction. Actually, now that I've been re-directed and memory jogged , Beverlywood between Century City and Culver City.

The grand estates of Hancock Park are amazing. So many amazing mansions right in the heart of the city. The only other place I've been to in the world that even comes close to resembling this is the Palermo neighborhood in Buenos Aires. Beverlywood like someone had mentioed is a subdivision that also is run by an HOA. They have signs letting you know when your entering the district as well as a 24 hour security patrol. Beverlywood to me is a polished version of a neighborhood that you might find in the Valley, like West Hills or Canoga Park.

Beverlywood begins right off of Robertson south of Cadillac, and North of the 10.

To my knowledge, it's an upper middle class retreat, complete with lush foilage, big family homes, winding roads, good parks (rancho park isn't far) and failing schools (Hamilton!). However it is still a wonderful place to raise a family

I'll try to take some pictures of it for you. All the times I've been there, I've never worried about my safety (same for Hancock Park)-however there are some sketchy areas off of La Cienega and Cadillac near the 10 freeway.

you may also be interested in Rancho Park west of Overland.
