What's the deal with the 70 or so acres of land immediately east of the WT&TV? I saw this on Google Maps so I wouldn't be aware if any construction is currently going on.

That's the old Rocketdyne site. They've been cleaning the soil for a long time in preparation for development. Here's an article about it.

It will be sitting empty for next year I believe. They got security on site guarding nothing but dirt so it might be valuable.
