I don't want to poor-shame people. I'd rather transplant-shame people. City's full, so go away and don't come back. Thanks...

if we're talking overall compensation package (base, bonus, stocks, 401k match, and other benefits such 100% paid medical premiums, etc), then we can bump it up to about 200k

Well peasant, then the first person that shouldn't be allowed to drive is you.

In that case 90% of the population can't drive. Median LA compensation is significantly lower than other major cities. I seriously don't know how most people survive in this city unless they have been here for a long time with real estate ownership. Would assume most are saving next to nothing.

I just got back from California, visiting my husband's family, and we were shocked how bad the traffic has gotten. So busy! We were in the Glendale area and near Los Feliz. My husband hasn't been there in a few months, but I haven't been there in a year. It was so backed up every where you tired to go. We tried taking the back roads; They were congested too! Crazy!!

My husband was convinced there was some kind of event going on but we asked his dad- his dad said there was just more people living there and more traffic. Incredible.

Glad we don't live there anymore.

My husband's family still rents their house. They have lived there for 50 years. Very poor. I don't know why they didn't try buying a long time ago.
