33 deaths yesterday in L.A. County.

Inspections have found many L.A. County restaurants are not following the rules.

Officials visited roughly 2,000 restaurants over the weekend and found that half of them were not in compliance with the county’s guidelines.

Health officials expressed alarm at the findings, stressing that it is essential that both customers and merchants follow safety guidelines to avoid new coronavirus outbreaks.

Yeah but they count anybody who dies as a coronavirus death.

You apparently enjoy repeating that false statement, over and over (and over). Must be some psychology behind that...

Newsom needs to step in and tell LA to shut the bars. They're known to spread the virus.

The situation in the county is failure by government on all levels (saying people shouldn't do things that spread the virus but hardly stopping said behaviors). New York City was ground zero, and the Big Apple now is clearly safer than it is here.

I have a friend in LA and they are starting back up at work in limited capacities but everyone is being tested before they are allowed to return, and a few turned up positive. I doubt these people would have been tested if their employer hadn't insisted so it looks like people are getting infected and not even realizing it. This is probably happening all over the state as things reopen, or at least I HOPE employers are requiring testing!!

I don't know if more than temperature checks (which are false negative sometimes) are mandated by the government for more than healthcare workers. As such neither do more than a few companies go that far, I believe. This situation has turned into a joke.

That kind of stuff almost certainly happened (and may still happen) at just about every county or city health department in the country. Do you think those offices are prepared to deal with a situation where case load increases like a 1000% within a couple of weeks? Those kind of low level administrative offices aren't exactly beacons of efficiency at the best of times.

Los Angeles is supposed to have some of the country's best administrators. This situation has hardly improved in months, long after the initial shock. It's time to fire people.
