We had a long planned trip to Los Angeles and Hollywood this summer, around July 4. Wondering if we should cancel due to covid or do you think things will be relatively opened by then? Do you think everyone will still be wearing masks?

We might be out and about a bit more but we will be social distancing and wearing masks for sure.

I'd cancel the trip.
LA County will not fully open up by July 4th.
The vibe won't quite be the same as during normal circumstances.
You don't want to have a subpar experience. Just reschedule for a later date.

LA at that time will still be out of character because of the virus. Next summer might be better.

I vote for postponing, at least until fall if not next year. Do you want to sit on a plane for several hours wearing a mask? Do you want to visit attractions that may still have strict distancing rules in force? Even if everything is open for business as usual by then, would you worry about the virus during your vacation? You will more likely enjoy yourself more if you postpone the trip and go at a time when things aren't as uncertain as they are now.

Southwest announced they will not be denying passengers base on them not wearing a mask. The rest of your statement could be true on social distancing but it's hard to know and hard to know if they really be enforced

Yes I'd cancel. Even if restaurants and shops are open, attractions for large crowds like sports, night clubs, concerts, and festivals will still be on-hold. You might as well wait until everything's fully open so you get your money's worth.

I'd go to San Diego instead. LA will be a mess, San Diego will be a lot further down the curve.
