Seeing a band past their prime is kind of sad. Saw The Police in 2007. Sting sang Roxanne two octaves lower. Andy Summers looked like he needed a nap about half way through the set. Sting's son's band was an opening act. The Rolling Stone s in 1988 thinking it might be one of the last chances to see them. Joke was on me.

Agreed, and to be fair although I have never seen Led Zepellin play live (I am far too young), I did see Jimmy Page play live at the forum when he was with the Firm...
I was there as a teenager.

I saw Jimmy Page at the Closing Ceremonies of the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He looked old then.

BTW, I saw The Who in 1988 (or was it 87?!) They were excellent. And unlike the 'Stones, I think it may have been their last big tour.
