What's going on here? Did they simply not want to come into contact with the immense number of people attending? Or was this party thrown by somebody well-connected?

An officer at the scene told KTLA they were only there to make sure there were no traffic and illegal parking issues. An LAPD spokesperson said the department was not there to enforce health orders.

At the end of May, L.A. police said they would crack down on parties in the Hollywood Hills that were creating a nuisance. But largely, house parties have continued across the city.

People's tendencies towards fascism fascinate me, especially in a free society. I guess they never figure the tentacles will reach them one day.

There are really big mansions surrounded by parks in that area.
They are made for lots of people and parties.

I guess complaints come from the same people who closed Beachwood Dr to tourists hiking to the Hollywood Sign because they make noise.

There was a shooting there.

It's a nice mansion, by the way.

Disgraceful. I want to see most buses banned from residential streets, Chief Moore fired, and Garcetti put on the hot seat by the media and Newsom.

Oh? Well, people's tendencies towards selfishness fascinates me, especially when there's a deadly pandemic causing others to suffer and die. I guess they never figure the virus will one day reach them or somebody they care about.

Private for-profit buses in the state should be required to log all passenger names and destinations, so that the government can identify and trace mass gatherings. Some people might scream fascism at that, but 1) the order could have a sunset clause 2) aircraft already are subject to such requirements. Party buses are part of the partying scourge that is keeping LA on the watch list and therefore ruining its economy and quality of life for people who aren't that keen on parties.

Cops know that partying is legal and there is nothing they can do about it.
