This will surely bring an economic boom to Palmdale & rest of Antelope Valley.

If Palmdale does get it and it does have the kind of economic impact the article says, imagine what it could do to home prices.

Ha! ...you gotta get out more.

"Ghetto" has to got to be the most overused and misused term on City-Data.

Yes. It will bring employment with high paying jobs. Then that will bring various business (restaurants, shops, etc.) to support the influx of new employees. All these high paying military & civilian workers need housing, it will drive up the demand in the valley for sure.

Just my rough estimate, but the current HQ is located at LA AFB near the LAX. It will have the USSF staff & direct reports, but it will also have support contractors to support its operations, there's at least a couple of hundred employees on my estimate.

I saw that they've started the Ritter Ranch development again between Palmdale and Leona Valley. That says a lot in and of itself, given that it was shelved for almost 20 years.

People who buy up there will have stunning views of the valley and the desert and mountains beyond.

Let the battle between Palmdale and Lompoc commence. May the odds be ever in your favor.
