I've had a couple. One was Saturday afternoon during peak hours.

What causes really short power outages? If it's the same reason as really long outages I will leave it at that.

We're in San Gabriel and ours went out Sat. at 1 AM. I'm not sure when it came back on but it was before 6AM. And that wasn't peak hours.

If I had to guess, I'd say it would be switching from one source to another. Perhaps a substation went down, so the load got transferred to another electricity provider.
