Does anyone use a GrandPad?

I’m a senior man that has basic computer skills, however I’m trying to help a more senior friend to embrace and use some of our modern computer technology. However after spending about 6 years of trying to teach my friend how to use a laptop, my friend just is not grasping the basics of using a computer.

I recently discovered the GrandPad (via an online ad). I have even reviewed several YouTube videos about using a GrandPad. I’m pretty such that my friend can use it without any troubles.

My question is, though I know that a GrandPad has a built in phone/video/camera, I was wondering when using the phone feature of the GrandPad, is it portable like a cellphone OR is it really more for it to be stationary on a desk (like a desktop computer)?

Ideally, it would be great to have only 1 cellphone bill (if the GrandPad is portable and easy to use as a cellphone), rather than have 2 separate bills (1 bill for the cellphone AND 1 cellphone bill for the GrandPad).

Lastly, are there any recommendations of where to buy a GrandPad and a good reasonable phone service provider for it?

Thank you in advance for your help.
