What would be a good area to live in if commuting to Downey while also having easy access to the airport? I am a single 20 something professional, that likes to do outdoor things, go out, etc.

-Marina Del Rey
-Playa Del Rey
-El Segundo
-Manhattan Beach
-Long Beach
-Hermosa Beach
-Seal Beach
-Or another area all together?

Please let me know what you think. Thanks!

Any of these cities are a straight shot commute- From the west side on the 105 and from the Long Beach area, straight up the 710. So the drive is pretty straight forward. I'd guess you're looking at 30-45mins. The 710 is the nastiest freeway in the LA basin as far as I'm concerned as all of the port semi-truck traffic is on it and the freeway, itself, is in horrible condition.

Long Beach and Seal Beach are the only ones I'd consider. The 605 from Downey south is very reasonable in traffic compared to other area freeways. The 405, 105, and 710 freeways are not.
