In Playa, there were a lot of gangbangers loitering in the parks, I didn't care for it. My friend bought a rather expensive condo in Playa Vista, which is a brand new area that has been developed south of Marina Del Rey. She said Playa Vista is not at all what she expected it to be and hardly worth the money.
I'm confused as to why you would comment and you are clearly not familiar with the area.Westchester is very nice community ,no its not Beverly Hills but the people who live their don't want it to be.Westchester is a safe ,diverse community close to many great areas in Los Angeles County. Playa del Rey being influenced by gangs come on. I live in Westchester and work in Playa Del Rey and neither are heavily influenced by gangs.

I think most people in this city just turn a blind eye to the problems unfolding. To say there is a problem would be pushing close to being politically incorrect or even racist, and no one wants to go there.

I moved to Playa Del Rey in January 2007 and left this past January. I followed police logs and saw that the incidents of crime in the area were rising drastically. I moved into the Archstone Playa Del Rey apartments, which I thought were clean, safe apartments until clearly the gang members started moving in. I know a deadbeat thug when I see one. They trashed the parking lot every weekend night, and just turned the place upside down. They were marching prostitutes up and down the hallways, smoked pot everywhere, played that God-awful rap music at deafening decibels. For the amount charged for rent, I don't understand how they could afford it. The problem was one person moved in and they would move all 25 of their family members and 50 of their closest homies in.

As for the incident in the park, well, there is only one park there off Jefferson Blvd. Look at how many condos are up for sale and ask yourself why.

Westchester is a lovely area.

No but the wall sounds like a nice idea. Unfortunately, it would be covered in graffiti in no time

I'm sorry but I simply do not believe what you are saying. Are you telling me that prostitution and gangs are running rampant in Playa Del Rey? If you think Westchester/Playa Del Rey are really being influenced by gangs you have clearly never in your life been to the ghetto. As for the park incident I don't have a clue what you are talking about.

We rent close to the condos in Westchester you were asking about. Generally, a nice area. We are looking to buy as well, but didn't like that they are on a main road. I would avoid the unit that is right next to the gas station with the car wash running alll day

Do you know the address to where I should avoid on Westchester?

West of Sepulveda is probably considered "better". Check out there as well. The closer you get to Inglewood, the more shabby things start to look.
