My wife and I are having what is taking a very long time in finding a 2bdrm. apt.. The price is going up, they want 3x the rent in monthly income net.. Our budget isn't very good at $1900 monthly. Literally all of the apartments that are built in this city have those retarded stairs. It's like a slab of concrete with a metal frame holding it in place. Surely you've seen them. My wife just steers clear of them and I can't really blame her. Seems like every time I find a place it's those stairs. It's extremely difficult to find a place that's safe and secure with parking. Where do private owners go on their on to fill the vacancy? Could anyone please offer assistance as Hotpads, Apartment.com, Zumper and the well know ones haven't been much help. We've been looking for a place we can call home for 2 years. Might have to move into a place for just a year, but don't want to do that. Has to be someplace out there but can't find it. Please help!

I thought it's impossible to find a 2-bedroom apartment for <$2,000.

Have you entertained the idea that 2 people could live in a studio?

OP, your current location is Los Angeles so I have to ask, where are you living now? How did you find your current place? Are you looking for a place closer to work? If so, what part of LA?

More information would be helpful, like where do you work, what kind of a commute are you willing to make, etc.

$1,900 is VERY low for a two bedroom.

A quick look at Zillow showed some 2 bedrooms in Lincoln Heights, just above DTLA.

Besides Zillow, look at Westside Rentals.

Never will I live in Lincoln Heights. I know LA. very well. It's impossible. Anywhere in the state of California that is safe and has a highway where I can go and find work as that's what I'm willing to do. My wife will not move to a sketchy area.3x the rent in income and not stated? WTF?

Unfortunately, it's even low for a one bedroom in many L.A. suburbs.

Then look outside of LA. How about up in the Sacramento area or even further north? Bakersfield? Riverside?

There are 1-bedroom apartments in many good areas of LA for $1,900.

A 1-bedroom apartment has 2 rooms, it should be enough for two people.
