Wow this thread is almost ten years old! Interesting to read that it hasn't changed much.

Northridge is nice once you get west and north of CSUN. East of the university it starts to deteriorate towards the 405.

It seems like that Great Streets thing they did on Reseda didn't do all that much other than protect bicyclists. I think Northridge is like a lot of the LA area where things just kind of sit and deteriorate because "Hey, why invest? It's tripling in value anyways!" You'd think with rising property values that redevelopment would happen, but it doesn't. We just pay more for the same old junk and clunk. The LA Story. But I live here, so I guess I'm still reading it.

Yeah I know there is some new development going on . A big development right by the north ridge mall of new town homes .
This is it

There are a lot of kind of run down/outdated strip centers in the valley I could see more of these turning into housing at some point possibly .

I agree about the great streets thing . To me it doesn't look too nice aesthetically and looks kind of cheap. It seemed like a lot of the stuff seemed dirty looking too .

I like Sherman Oaks. Northridge is kinda snobby but not much.

Definitely not. It's a nice area overall (with rough spots though) but I'd definitely not be impressed in the slightest if anyone told me they live in Northridge.
There are MANY areas in LA that are much better
