Thank you for your generous response, Gavini. I found a beautiful condo online (hope it's still available) located in the Wrigley area that I'm very interested in buying. I too was wondering if it is safe because I'm a single woman and am aware of LB's unfortunate reputation.

You know, its not exactly a great area, despite whats posted here. Wrigley itself is fine. BUT...if you drive into the neighborhood, check out PCH and Pacific. Then ask yourself whats keeping that element out.

I would not recommend the area for a single woman and would not recommend for familiy with young kids.

The prostitution and crime on PCH has been reduced, but with all the budget problems, if police force is hit, those notels on PCH will be ripe criminals to again move in.

Default More on Wrigley

My daughter has lived in the Wrigley Neighborhood for over 8 years. There is some crime. Her home was broken into about 5 years ago. Since then she has not had any problems. The neighbors on her street keep their homes very attractive and seem to be always improving them. Each home is different and it makes for a very interesting neighborhood. Her neighbors are friendly and look out for one another. I will admit that she has a burglar alarm, but I dont find that unusual in todays climate. She has no children, so I cannot comment on schools and play areas for children. For single people, it fits the bill.

Old thread but most def worth revisiting.

The mentality displayed by OP...so pervasive....so desperate to buy that they are willing to buy in a location they aren't really all that happy with. Hope that OP did not buy as Wrigley area prices have fallen at least 20-25% since 2008.

You can get a decent home there for well under $400k currently. $300-350k seems common.

Wrigley is very friendly and has two very active associations. I've lived in Wrigley for 12 years and have never had a bad experience. I love my home, neighbors and it's very quite and peaceful. I've been seeing a lot more young families moving into the area. Most of the homes here were built by real craftsmen in the 1920-30's and the back yards are hugh. You get a lot for your money.
