Making the big trip from one coast to the other...I will be attending Santa Monica college since college in NYC was far from as enjoyable as I thought it would be.

Not really concerned about making it to Hollywood and downtown that much, so would living in a place like Marina Del Rey suffice if I plan on going to school in santa monica?

Yeah. Do you have a car? If not, a bus will take you to school.

Out of curiosity, why was school in NY not enjoyable? The reason I ask is because people have these preconceived glamorous ideas about SoCal which usually turns out badly. I'm worried that you may be one of them.

What exactly are you looking for, besides an education?

marina del rey is not far from SMC, but it is also pretty expensive. what will your rental budget be? to live in MDR it should be at least $1500+/month for a 1 bedroom apartment.

Yes I do have a car.

School in NY was not enjoyable for many reasons. The weather, life depending on mass transit, 2150 a month for a one bedroom etc.

My main reasons for moving to LA are pretty simple though; I'm a fashion major and my genre of fashion is more prevalent out there, the weather is simply perfect, and because I'd like to have the ability to drive where I want. Las Vegas, AZ, SD, SF all sound like awesome trips in my car.
