So this guy is feeding from the public trough yet won't play ball by taking a free and effective vaccine? Quite the drama queen.

Nevertheless, given his line of work wouldn't it have made for better symbolism for the guy to burn the letter?

Wait a minute, being a firefighter is a form of welfare? Firefighters are not providing a service for their compensation? Are you willing to enter a burning building? The drama queens are those who are imposing their will on others and then get all upset when there is resistance to their tyranny. The vaccine is effective at preventing hospitalization and death, not effective in prevention and spread.

The paper the firefighter so crudely soiled was to report his vaccination status. He has the option of getting vaxxed, apply for a medical or religious exemption, or get tested twice a week at his expense and off-duty. The LAFD is not forcing anyone to get vaccinated. Where the firefighter is in trouble for is insubordination which is cause for termination. Really dumb move on his part.

I see "NYfinestbxtf" is back.

Feeding at the public trough is not a reference to welfare. Feeding at the public trough refers to activities which are generally considered hypocritical and/or reprehensible.

This fireman is fattening himself with public money while thumbing his nose at simple job requirements....if he can't take the heat he should get out of the kitchen.

Plus they retire at 50 with full pay or nearly full. So you've got 30 years with really good pay and not having to show up for work.

Age 50 and minimum of 25 years of service. Max pension for LAPD & LAFD is 90% @ 33 years.

What if he doesn’t have a religious or medical exemption and doesn’t want to pay to be tested twice a week? That’s being forced to be vaccinated.
