1 out of 4 deaths in the projects of LA are attributed to young white males visiting them to see if they are as scary as they appear in Training Day, Menace II Society, and in the songs by their favorite rappers.

Just something to think about.

So funny!

But seriously, I think that if the OP really wants to drive through the projects or any other rough LA areas, I would suggest the following:

1) Go during the day - mornings would probably be better
2) Don't make yourself look so completely like a "fish out of water" but don't go the route of trying to look like "Vanilla Ice"
3) Don't "seem" or "act" like you are lost...look like you know where you are going and what you are doing
4) Remember that people in the projects see white people all of the time...especially when they go into the projects to buy drugs
5) Treat people with respect and you will probably be ok

That seems like great advice, but why even go in the first place?

Ever heard the term 'Curiosity killed the cat' ?
