I just did a search using google on the following words:

bibliography history of "los angeles"

Here is a good-looking article found from that search:
BIBLIOGRAPHIC ESSAY

You might also look at that entire website, of which this page is a part.

This required about 5 seconds of my time to find.

This question is so very broad. If you really narrow it down with more specifics you would really get a lot more help with your question.

The what groups live here would be a full United Nations list.
Why they moved here will depend on how far back into Los Angeles history you are referring to.
Influenece of their presence is also a very broad question.

To be quite honest, you could focus on one ethnic group's contributions to Los Angeles and have a great thesis subject.

For example, in my thesis, I focused on the Afro-Mexican contribution to the settlement of El Pueblo de la Reina de Los Angeles in 1781.

thanks that should help a lot. seems that including the word 'bibliography' in a search brings more relevant information

for this particular thesis I was not able to choose the topic or what to include in it (to much of an extent that is) - hence why I have struggled with it.
