Spell it as "Silver Lake" -- two words.

Reconsider moving there. I have a friend who wants out because it is surrounded by very bad areas.

Well, have you ever been to Silver Lake? I mean drive a little south or southeast and see where you wind up? My friend says there have been several instances at night where gunshots can be heard in the distance. You are backed right up against gangland over there. I am gay and frankly, I wouldn't care to live there even though a lot of gay people seem to like it there.

I live in West Hollywood. Frankly, this is not a happening place in my opinion. The rents are skyrocketing and it just is not the place it was ten, even five years ago. A lot of pretentious jerks who just live at the gym and Starbucks.

I like Westwood myself, however it is expensive and you will be living around a lot of college kids because of UCLA. So, be careful you don't move in next to a frat house.

Brentwood is fine if you stay north of Wilshire. South of Wilshire is little Tijuana now. Again, my friend, to stay in a decent area you WILL have to pay mucho dollar...
