Men had cool sideburns back then. No sound, but play Iron Butterfly's In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida while watching.

Cool stuff. At the 12:30 mark in the video, where is that? Those cars in that ride look so familiar but I can seem to place where exactly they are. Busch Gardens? Knotts?

Good memories for those of us who were single digit aged kids in the 70s, but I much much much prefer life and the world they way it is now.

It looks like Santa's Village near Lake Arrowhead.

Pretty far from Los Angeles. Kinda false advertising in this video if that is the case. Has no business at all being included in any "....Los Angeles street scenes" discussion or video.

I originally thought that the amusement park scene was filmed at Knott's, but the cars in the clip had only one steering wheel and a rumble seat. Bud Hurlbut designed, built, and operated the antique car ride at Knott's, (in addition to the Calico Mine Ride and the Timber mountain Log Ride). Those cars were smaller and had two steering wheels.

Bud opened the Castle Amusement Park in 1976, but he didn't set up the antique car ride there until about 1986.
The car ride starts at 14:23

Then I saw this 1972 photo by Dcsutherland and knew that CA4Now was correct.

Most of us who grew up in southern California went to Santa's Village at least once, despite the long, windy roads to Lake Arrowhead. The original Santa's Village was open from 1955 to 1998.

I'm so sorry the person who named and uploaded the video to Youtube ruined your day. You should take your claim of "false advertising" to them and see if they'll give you a refund...
