Graffiti removal: Attempt to slash Los Angeles graffiti removal budget criticized - latimes.com
It's a good thing that local politicians and Mayor Villaraigosa oppose this and hopefully it won't get cut back.

If it does a large part of the City will be a real eyesore as the taggers and gang bangers will have a field day with this. More graffitti/terrritory related crime, painted out signs and anegative image for tourists to take back home.

What they might look into more aggresively to cut back costs is to really go after and slam those involved, especially the parents of minors caught doung this.

Truth be told, I'd rather see taggers shot on sight, obviating the need for this debate.

I would extend that type of treatment to everyone who has ever asked me "EYY, WHERE YOU FROM?!" God, if I had a nickel for every time someone asked me that....
