Hi,
We are a family of 6 (2 adults, 2 seniors, 2 kids).

(a) I am looking for a vacation stay along the beach or some scenic place in SoCal or within California on a budget (<$500 a day).

(b) Since there are 4 members that are dependent on me, I prefer to compromise on a hotel or resort that is lesser scenic or not a beach front but provides food all 3 times. I tried to find such on the web, without success.

Most see outside of the US or Florida. Do we don't have any such really in SoCal / California?

Please, any recommendations on (a) & (b)?

To be clear, you're looking for a resort with 3-meal-a-day food service (included?) that's sort of near the beach or a scenic area? Your post seems to contradict itself a little.

Yes, you are right. Sorry for the confusion.

I meant that I am okay if the resort is not beach facing but must serve 3 meals a day food service.

The food cost may be included or excluded - that does not matter but food should be available onsite so I dont have to run or commute outside of the resort.

I suggest you try Trip Advisor or another travel oriented site.

I would look into the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes. I'm not sure if they have American Plan rates (three meals a day), but I would inquire. There are several restaurants on site. In addition, the rates may be a bit above your budget.

You’re welcome. Believe it or not, Southern California doesn’t have a lot a beachfront resort hotels like in Florida and Hawaii. The Terranea Resort does overlook the ocean and has beach access. Some other options include Venice Beach and Marina Del Rey. A quick inquiry found the Hilton Garden Inn in Marina Del Rey and the Venice on the Beach Hotel.
