Apartments in WeHo (Santa Monica, Culver City, West Hollywood: rentals, living in, safest)

Can anyone recommend some apartments in WeHo? I'm looking for somewhere safe, nice, and with washer/dryer in unit. It seems pretty hard to find that for some reason unless its like 3k+ for a 2 bdr.

I've been all over move.com and apartments.com but it seems pretty limited...I heard westsiderentals was good but I dont know if it's really worth the $60.

West Hollywood resident here. First, forget westsiderentals. You don't need them. I tried them twice and it was a waste of money both times.

Most properties in WeHo don't sit long because everyone is trying to move here. The building I am living in now, which is 70+ years old, has a first floor, 2-bedroom apartment for $3,000 a month and it isn't worth it, especially with the screwballs that inhabit this building! It has been sitting for months, too!

I strongly recommend you move west of Sweetzer Avenue. I live just east of there and I think it just isn't the best part of the city. The "pulse" of WeHo is between La Cienega & Robertson. I think that is also where you find the nicest, safest...BUT most expensive...places in WeHo to live. DO NOT live east of Fairfax because that is where it gets rough.

My major beef right now with WeHo is the rapidly growing number of homeless in the city. They always stay on the same park bench or street corner. Many of them now are so wild-eyed it is awful. They are so drunk and so high, screaming obscenities, it really makes the property value of WeHo drop in my opinion.

Also, you will find few apartments here with washer/dryer or washer/dryer hookups. You must remember, the vast majority of complexes in WeHo are 35 - 100 years old. They have only started provided W/D or hookups in apartments built in the last five or so years.
