Id rather see Danny Noriega perform "You Spin Me Round Round" on the kazoo. You didnt just find her on myspace, you are trying to use this forum as a method of free marketing or to "advertise" which is prohibited.

spaceland and the echo are the new hotspots to see up and coming acts in LA. most of the clubs on the sunset strip are pretty crummy these days and only showcase bands that sell their own tickets. the only club that hosts decent bands is the house of blues.

To add to dabeez and Charles' insider knowledge, opening act Anton Newcombe is going to apologize to approximately 483,667 people in the music biz that's he's heretofore personally offended in a stunning spoken word performance of contrition, dig? And an as yet to be announced messiah will perform in a second coming as well. Me, I'll just wait for the earth and the sun to cool to celebrate the release of Axl Rose and "Guns N'Roses" 's "Chinese Democracy!"

(If any readers not in on the jokes want a good listing of actual local club acts, try Hollywood Clubs and Los Angeles Area Clubs Music Calendar. )

Default Smith & Pyle Performing at Universal's Summer Concert Series

On August 9th 9:00 PM (PST), Universal’s Summer Concert Series at CityWalk welcomes hot, desert Country rock band "Smith & Pyle"! Comprised of actresses Shawnee Smith and Missi Pyle, and backed by the legendary Chris Goss, the first single off their debut album "It's OK to be Happy" will be released July 29th from their record label Urban Prairie.

You may recognize Shawnee from her role as Linda on the CBS series “Becker” and the hugely successful SAW horror film franchise, as well as her work in the Michael Bay films “Armageddon” and “The Island”. Missi is best known for playing Mrs. Beauregarde in Tim Burton’s “Charlie and The Chocolate Factory”, “Dodgeball” alongside Vince Vaughan and Ben Stiller, “50 First Dates” with Adam Sandler, and “Bringing Down the House” with Steve Martin. She will next be seen in this fall’s season premiere of “Pushing Daises” on ABC.

Admission is free, but it is a good rule of thumb to arrive early as the show is first come first serve(can not pre-purchase tickets). CityWalk is located at 100 Universal City Plaza, Universal City, CA 91608.For more information about Smith & Pyle, visit http://smithandpyle.com/
