Hi guys,

What are your thoughts on Temple city? I am trying to move closer to work (which is in El Monte) saw a place today which I liked. This is pretty close to work for me and at the outset, it looks great.

Is anyone familiar with the area? Its located on Green st off of Baldwin Ave.

Since I am kinda new to this place, would really appreciate if you could give me some pointers?

Thanks!

Lucky!

Temple City is very safe, highly-rated schools.. Not much of a nightlife, but it's close enough to pretty much anywhere. Grew up here and I'm dreading moving into my own place, since I won't be able to afford anything in a city nearly this nice.

My sister complains that the houses are mish-moshy looking, i.e. not coherent designs etc., but that's not high on my priorities in finding a neighborhood to live in Lots of the incoherency nowadays is due to mansions butting up against older 1960s-70s houses in the area, anyway, so I wouldn't say there's any particular danger of declining..

Very rarely, we've called the cops on domestic disputes (though I'm pretty sure those neighbors have long since moved), and once in awhile I hear about things that seem to be asian-gang-related. It seems that Arcadia is having more problems in that area, though.

The only iffy area of TC that I can think of would be as you head very far south and east, closer to El Monte. Alternately, as you head north toward Arcadia, things get shinier. The area that you mentioned is nice (I live on Olive a few blocks from there). I wish I could afford those condos

Hope this helps!

I've only driven into Temple City once and almost got hit 3 times in a span of about 5 minutes...possibly the worst drivers i've ever seen.

i lived in temple city (near temple city high) for 10 years, its quiet not much street life... a bit like AnyCity, USA.

...it doesn't have helicopters and police sirens going past your house every day and night. (BONUS!)
