Hi,

My cousin and I are going to LA for about 6 months, he is going to be studying at the New York Film Academy, and I am going to be tagging along with him for a few months for a break.

We are totally new to LA and have no idea where to begin as to where to stay etc.

Basically what I'm asking is what safe areas are reccomended with fair prices for rent. Given in the UK all you'll pay is about $1400 for a 2 bed city centre apartment, we we're thinking of stretching to the same over in LA. But it seems even with the strong exchange rate, money doesn't seem to stretch as far with rent going up to near $2k per month for a 2 bed.

Where should we begin, we'd be coming over in August.

Since you will only be here 6 months, pay a bit more and stay in a great place.

Look for something in studio city in the areas close to Ventura Blvd. or check burbank.

You will have easy access to the Universal Studios Lot.
