Where are some of your favorite places to travel to (outside of LA)... when you just want to escape the hustle bustle and do something different?

Reasonable driving distance only! (4-5 hours or less)

Vegas, SD, santa barbara, colorado river, big bear, yosemite (maybe more than 5 hours), pismo, cambria, paso robles, solvang, baja, etc...

Catalina Island (of course you can't drive there but it's only a one hour boat ride from LA Harbor).

Palm Springs & Joshua Tree (but not in summer).

Santa Barbara, La Jolla, San Luis Obispo, Big Sur.

This is an awesome thread to start. I hope that you receive lots of replies because I would love to read through them as well. I'm excited about moving to CA and want to see as much as possible! No partying for me. I want to SEE CA!!
