Hi everyone ,

Currently I live Vancouver, Canada and since I am a dual citizen( canadian and Amercian ) Im moving back to the USA in 2011,.I lived in the USA a few times before but this time Im going back to California, mainly for the weather and better career oppurtunities than .that are here in vancouver.

right Im between SD and LA I cant decide I liked all kinds of areas

well I will be graduating as a nurse. I will have nearly 1 million for the selling of my real estate. with no debt , I will be a 30 year old male, single no attachments

well I have been all over LA and rented a car last year( I did 6 months down there) and done all that last year but Im so confused as to where I want to go .I am all set up down there .I have California drivers license bank accounts everything. I will be In there in June and LA again December.

I want to advance my career as a nurse, and Maybe have better social life in a funner city because vancouver is dead as all hell, the weather is horrible. all my friends have left and its time to move on to bigger more interesting things

not really looking to have family at this point( if ever) I like concerts ,fashion and theatre. and entertainment

but sometimes I think LA is too much of a jungle for me and SD would have more long term appeal. Id like to lean surf as well

allot of LA can be run down at times(no offense) however I think LA could be funner to live its more fashionable with better nightlife as opposed to san diego

I have seen many new condos which I can afford around hollywood wilshire beverly hills etc

does anyone know how much a nurse can make starting out down there? being a nurse I work just about anywhere. ideally I would want to work in the nicer areas , and hopfully wont need to commmute anywhere odds I can afford the nicer areas too

I still like having fun and im told that san diego is often called "Man diego" due to unbalanced gender ratio.. is this true?

so im undecided? and i just doing my research at this point what are your thoughts for those that live there and know more and what you reccommend for a guy in my position

thanks,

I think you will have a better chance finding work in LA over SD. I am currently in SD and planning to move around the LA area soon. SD is laid back and not to much going on. I personally don't like the housing and how the city is in general.

from what I know the economy is SD is not the best. I believe even the locals here are having a hard time finding work. I grew up in the Bay Area (San Francisco) up North all my life. Go I guess I am use to the city live. Housing, building and the general land layout is not for in. Very dirty in most of the parts of SD. I've heard that its much better if you live a bit out of SD like oceanside but thats just what I heard.
If you really want to try SD and can find work. Got for it cause LA is not that far sense you are choosing LA or SD. SD is a good place to visit but not live in but thats just my opinion.

San Diego is the bomb as the kids say, anyway I would chose it over LA. I've lived in LA area all of my life, and I gotta say it's a little overrated

San Diego and LA are very different.

San Diego is obviously much smaller, but the downtown part (gaslamp district) and the beach areas like Mission Beach are very cool. Lots of bars, hot women, nightclubs. But not as wild and not as much action as LA. Its a little more laid back. Since you are a nurse, you should be able to easily land a job, and afford living in downtown San Diego.

LA is so huge you'll never get bored, as long as you are willing to get out there and explore different areas on your days off. Its a much more ethnically diverse, humungous city than San Diego. Lots of entertainment, whether you like clubs, bars, theater, and beach, too (Venice Beach, Santa Monica, etc.). More activities for you to do, but its so huge u might feel like you're just a little speck floating in a big ocean.

Bottom line, San Diego is a smaller, casual, beach city, nicer looking, and cleaner, and less crowded. LA is a big downtown city, more dirty, more traffic, but with more action and things to do.
