I am moving back to LA from FL and staying in an extended stay hotel in Culver City- can you suggest a good one and tell me about Culver City? is it safe? and how much of a commute for a job in Beverly Hills/Santa Monica area?

What is your budget for the extended stay?

Why don't you move closer to your job (not that it is that far anyway)?

Culver City is an odd shapped city, so depending on where your hotel is located, it could take as little as 10 minutes to get to either Santa Monica or Beverly Hills or upwards of 30 minutes or longer.
