True. Many who live in the valley are from somewhere else.

Anyways, it seems....hot, desolate, unforgiving, Hispanic (see: Reseda), pallid, generic, bland...I'm glad I don't live there
Hot? The maximum temp averages low 90s in July. Not much different from many areas in the southeast, but without the humidity.

Desolate? With over 1.5 million people, I don't see how the valley could be described that way!

Unforgiving? ? ? ? ?

Hispanic? Yes, for some areas, but not others. For instance, the population of Calabasas is 86.9% white and only 4.7% Hispanic. Burbank is 72.2% white and 24.9% Hispanic. Other areas, like Tarzana, Encino, Sherman Oaks, Woodland Hills, Northridge and Porter Ranch have similar figures.

Pallied, generic, bland? There are quite a few nice areas in the valley:

Interesting, I heard the Porn industry calls The San Fernando Valley home. A majority of porn made in the US comes out of there AND a huge percentage of businesses do business with them as well. They rent homes to shoot at, catering places bring food, the list goes on.

It doesn't sound like a place I would want to live.

First of all, Thousand Oaks is not part of the SFV at all. It is the Conejo Valley. People from the Valley that I know, me being one, are not snobby as a city. How a person is individually is another story.

Lindsey, the porn industry is pretty much centralized to the Chatsworth area, not rampant through the whole Valley. It's not like you would know what was going on in these homes if they were shooting. A friend of mine was renting a room in one of the homes and it was kept very private except for all of the rock stars and movie stars (men) that would come by and "watch".

The huge majority of residents are regular, middle-class people like you and I.

There isn't a big city anywhere in the U.S. in which immoral and/or illegal things don't happen.

Oh, OK. I guess the residents of Conejo (T.O., Westlake, Oak Park, Agoura) would like to trade their houses for ones in Canoga, Reseda, Van Nuys, Sylmar, Pacoima, etc.... haha...

I've gone to the Valley for nice used cars and good AA meetings and that's about it

Seriously, I was always proud to be from Pasadena and if anyone threw me shade about it, I'd say "...when was the last time you were there? Where did you go?..."

Lindsey: you're referring to Chatsworth.

The SFV has over 2 million people. That's more than some states. There are areas within the SFV that are more family friendly than your neck of the woods.

Before you make a blanket statement and dismissal, educate yourself.
