The Metropolis million dollar glass condos will make a nice additon to the skyline,
as will the Wilshire Grand.

Interesting to see the air quality today has improved so much since then.

Metropolis : Curbed LA
Yeah, let's see how many people we can cram into this city. Let's see if we can turn all the freeways into parking lots, every hour of every day, so property developers and their friends in the L.A. city council can make millions before retreating to a wealthy enclave 1,000 miles away.

Hey for those of you that have an interest in the 1980s DTLA skyline, I just watched the remastered 1983 HD version of emilio estevez in Repo Man.

The movie was filmed downtown, I recognized Broadway and Mateo and Maple and the bridge over 4th street and whatnot, WHEN THEY WAS UGLY in 1983. I said "hey! I KNOW that intersection! That's where VILLIANS TAVERN is now! and Hey! I parked there last summer!"

Hmmmm... I dunno. If I lived at the Metropolis and I still worked on Fig, I'd ride a Razor Scooter to work and never leave the place. It is more likely them people living in Palmdale or Fontucky and commuting to DTLA 5 times a week that are clogging up yo freeways, bro.

And bonus trivia !!!

Q. name three cities 1,000 miles away from Los Angeles:

A. Seattle, WA
B. Mazatlan, Mexico
C. Rapid City, South Dakota

Ummm... I'm not saying those are really upgrades from Los Angeles, California. But if I had to choose one, I'll pick Mazatlan, on account of me making out with a visiting Sinaloa Princess from Mazatlan last May. That chick could throw back some silver tequila and smoke a Marlborough Light like nobody's business.

I love watching HD film transfers of movies from the 80's and 90's shot in LA. It's like a time machine.
