Does anyone know anything about the Royal Carlton Apartments that are located at carlton way/wilton? The ad says one block south of hollywood blvd and one block west of Western Ave. Is this in a good area?

Crusty but not awful. It depends what you're used to. A general rule of thumb for the area for newbies is to stay north of Hollywood Blvd.

This area used to be really sketchy but I lived there as a female alone and never had any problems even walking around at night. The area has been somewhat gentrified but it also buts against Los Feliz, so it didn't need major genetrification.

I think it would be an good area to live in.

It's definitely a city neighborhood [there have been sexual assaults at night on women, esp on dark blocks with lots of overgrown trees. But overall you don't hear of any problems but traffic.
