A Blue Line train & MTA bus crashed this morning in downtown injuring a least a dozen people. Evidently the bus was out of service & had no passengers but the train heading south toward Long Beach was full when the bus turned in front of the on-coming train.

What is going on with the public transit systems in Los Angeles?

I have seen a decline in the overall driving quality in the greater LA area. Unsafe lane changes and lack of signal usage is rampant. I have been cutoff by buses and bigrigs. I have seen buses speeding around a bunch of cars in a turn lane only to dive in at the last second. This crash along with the one last week does not surprise me.

It reminds me of the traffic at LAX with buses & cabs racing at very unsafe speeds [I'm amazed pedestrians are run over!

Mass transit/cabs/limos have been unsafe in any urban region for decades...am more surprised there aren't more accidents/injuries/deaths

Anyone who values own safety simply chooses newest, safest car one can afford and relies upon own driving judgment/skills to minimize risks....they don't hand out certain cars and/or jobs to just anyone

Higher insurance premiums and tickets are the unfortunate antidote for bad driving behaviors....

Maybe the bus driver was texting.

Those of us familiar with MTA and public transportation in LA aren't surprised.
