Hello All:

I wanted to get your opinion of NE Pasadena. I wantred to get a house in this area however I was concerned by the safety issue(home invasions....). I am originally from northern virginia. It seemed that it was affordable as Pasadena goes (400-500k).

Northeast Pasadena is safe and lovely. It's also very pretty.

it is as safe as anywhere in So Calif. I would ask, have you thought about looking in Sierra Madre or Arcadia? They might be a little more expensive but it is a thought.

East of Lake Avenue is nice, gets better the further east you go. West of Lake is a little more spotty. The Presidents Row area (actually unincoporated LA County) towards Eaton Park is really nice. Also nice is the Hastings Ranch area. If you have any questions on a more immediate area (specific street, block, etc.) post it, I'm sure someone can help out.

If safety is your concern then Sierra Madre is the safest place to move but expensive. You could find a place to rent first to make sure that's the area you want to live in. Also try Historic Highlands. East of Lake south of New York.

Northeast Pasadena is pretty pricey for the most part. I live in southeast Pasadena where it is not expensive at all and safety concerns are not an issue.
