I have my Arizona driver's license, and I can and have driven many times on my own. When I go to college I'll be 18, but you can't drive alone in LA at 18? Weird.

Ok sorry I just finished reading some more of the posts and read on to find out that you don't have to be 18 to drive in CA alone, provided you have a license. WOW it takes 45 minutes to drive like 20 miles?!? I thought traffic was bad in Phoenix but WOW!

Why not ASU, home of the Sun Devils? (I did my undergrad at ASU, currently in a master's program at USC).

Sorry, ya made me chuckle a bit there.

That's nothing compared to the worst of the worst. If you are in the wrong place at the wrong time (i.e. the 405 during rush hour), it can take 2 hours to go 20 miles.

Of course, that's nothing compared to New York City, especially Manhattan, where worst-case it can take 2 hours or more to go 1 mile.

Who is driving in Manhattan when you can take the subway? Big difference from LA IMHO!
