Seems like a good school, they are in top standing with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), so your are off to a good start.

Save as much money as you can.

You're not too young, just do as much homework as possible before you come to L.A. Try to be as prepared as much as you can before you get here.

Apply for jobs before you come to L.A., You never know how long it takes to get a gig. Everything is done online nowadays anyway. Worse comes to worse, try snagajob.com just to get anything to put some cash in your pockets.

That's a good start. Get a roommate in the beginning, just so it will be easier to find your way. Most likely your roomey will already have the area cased out for you. Leave most of that loot in the bank for emergencies, if you can. Try to live off your paycheck. L.A. has a tendicy to smell saved money and destroy it.

Thank's And I'm Def Going Save As Much As Possible....I'm Glad I Found This Forum And People Like You To Help Me So that Cover's The Home work Part And i Can't Wait To Move...I Might Have More Questions To Ask You So I Sent You A Friend Request And i Hope You Can answer Them...

Once Again Thank's

Very cool - very few folks that come out here to start their careers ever go back. Glad to hear you are focused on your education.

Mr Smith, I had a friend try to get me to move to LA when I was 19, and my dad talked me out of it. fast forward 15 years: I moved to LA and I realized I should have moved here when I was 19. My dad also said "Yeah, you should have just moved there." Might as well take a chance and mix it up. Just don't get addicted to meth. That **** is evil.

I'm From Out Of State {I Currently Live In MD}And Will Be Moving To Hollywood To Attend The Musicians Institute.

I'm 19 Yrs Old,Have Almost Completed My Second yr Of College And I Currently Have A Job.

I Have Asked A Lot Of Question And By the Suggestion From Other Members Of The City-Data Forum i Should Ask Them In A Large Sum So I Have Decided To Do So...

Anyway Down To Business. I Will Be Asking Three Questions In This Topic And Probably Will Ask Many More In The Day's/Week's To Come...

1.Being 19,Do Any Of You Guy's Think That It's to Young To Move Cross Country, Or Would It Be Very Mature To Live On My Own And Make The Move?

2.Is it Easy To Get A Part-time/Full-time Job In Any Store In The Hollywood Area?

3.How Much Money Would You Recommend On Bringing My First Month?
{the School Helps With The Finding A Place Situation..i'm Also Giving A List Of Roommates To Choose From..And I Want Bring Between 3000-5000...Just Till I Find A Job}
I agree with the others' sentiments.

In any event, I think you'll be okay. Give it a shot, stay focused on your education, and stay true to your personal values. Los Angeles may change you a bit, but whatever happens remember who you are and where you're from (in every sense). Besides, if it doesn't work out, you could always go back home, yes?

Good luck

~Mike

1) Save as much money as you can...I would try to save closer to $8K-$10K

2) There are other areas that are close to Hollywood without having to live "in" Hollywood

3) Finding a job in a store may be a bit difficult right now...you may need to think outside the box on this one and try looking for a part-time job giving music lessons or tutoring.

4) Even though the thought of coming to LA is exciting you must stay focused. You must learn the art of networking and keep a positive attitude. And like ConsideringLA said, you must finish your schooling.

Good Luck and I'm sending you positive {{{{{{{{{VIBES}}}}}}}}}
