By car about 25 to 30 minutes without traffic. You could take the 405 frwy to Sunset Blvd. which takes you directly to the Palisades. I don't know the mileage. Mileage doesn't really factor in out here since it can take you an hour in traffic to go 10 miles. Go to MapQuest for mileage.

Brentwood is much closer to the Palisades, probably about 5-7 miles. And you don't have to take the freeway.

Do you live in California at the moment? You do know how expensive these areas are, right? Normally, it would take you about 10 minutes to go from one end of Brentwood to the Palisades.

If your client does not offer you room in his or her residence, you should calculate a budget and use that to determine where you can go.

Pacific Palisades and Brentwood are equally nice. The Palisades are more suburban and a bit more quiet. Brentwood has better access to Beverly Hills(15 minutes) and Westwood(7 minutes).

Palisades will add ten minutes to your trip, but it has the beaches and gorgeous mountains. I'd go with Palisades,

PP is my favourite area of Los Angeles City, Brentwood also, the problem with the Palisades is that is a littel isolated, but close to Santa Monica and Century City. Brentwood, Bel Air, and Beverly are in the hills but very very close to the core of the Westside amazing shopping, nightlife, and clubbing areas of Westwood and West Hollywood. The only problem living in any of the hills westside communities is the budget you need to buy or rent something there, the real first housing market in the States.
