Here are some photos I took of the snow on Oat Mountain (3,748 feet) in the Santa Susana range.

During the snowstorm:

How could you dare to wish something so innocent as a snowfall on the residents of Los Angeles County! I am sure you know there are people who have a difficult enough time navigating in rain sprinkles let alone a dusting of frozen water!

It would reduce people to having mental breakdowns.

I'm fine with watching the Mt. Wilson cam.

Enjoy!

(the image was beautiful at 9am this morning - I saved it as my desktop image)

No way! I just got to LA yesterday from Northern Indiana and I can tell you snow is not very "pretty" when it cause numerous bloody casualties on the roads. Not to mention delayed flights, falling and breaking your tailbone, and your fingers going so numb that you can't even hold on to a cup of coffee. I'll take the warm and sunny!

Don't worry. We will have our usual 80 degree days in January... we always do.

Haha! I shouldn't be so hasty. I guess a few flurries for Christmas would be nice for all of you who never get a white Christmas.

No, it really has happened before. Remember, I keep records! (Since 1980).

Here are some instances when the temp went up 15 or 20 degrees just days after a "cold" spell..

-----3-------------- 73/41
-----4-------------- 80/50 (mild Santa Ana winds)

Feb. 21, 1999------- 60/47
-----22------------- 68/46
-----23------------- 75/53

Dec. 14, 1998------- 58/38
-----15------------- 75/44
-----16------------- 78/63 (Santa Ana winds)
-----17------------- 80/65

Jan. 16, 1997-------- 56/42
-----17-------------- 61/46 (Santa Ana winds)
-----18-------------- 71/57 (Santa Ana winds)

Mar. 12, 1996-------- 57/49
-----13-------------- 62/48
-----14-------------- 69/44
-----15-------------- 77/47
-----16-------------- 77/48
-----17-------------- 73/51
-----18-------------- 83/55

Feb. 3, 1996--------- 60/52
-----4--------------- 76/44
-----5--------------- 74/51
-----6--------------- 76/50

Dec. 25, 1995-------- 59/44
-----26-------------- 64/52
-----27-------------- 72/46

Feb. 13, 1995-------- 57/43
-----14-------------- 61/48
-----15-------------- 68/50
-----16-------------- 77/45
-----17-------------- 75/47 (Mild Santa Ana winds)
-----18-------------- 81/52 (Mild Santa Ana winds)
-----19-------------- 84/67 (Moderate Santa Ana winds)
-----20-------------- 87/67 (Moderate Santa Ana winds)

And one of the best ones:

Jan. 25, 1995-------- 55/50 (2.1" rain)
-----26-------------- 58/43
-----27-------------- 60/44
-----28-------------- 69/44
-----29-------------- 74/48 (Mild Santa Ana winds)
-----30-------------- 74/51 (Mild Santa Ana winds)
-----31-------------- 83/58 (Mild Santa Ana winds)

Glad you liked the photos!
If we get another low snow level, I may hike up to the top of Mission Point and take some pics of the snow in person. (See photo below: taken from Mission Point.)

You all enjoy it.

Seems funny to see snow in Vegas and way down in the higher elevations of LA, while its been so rainy here in northeast Tennessee and in the 60s to near 70 (at times this week)!

Forecast tomorrow here is thundershowers/wind and 68°, which is about 18° above average for us this time of year.

I just drove up to Colorado Springs from El Monte taking the northern route, the whole Southwest was blanketed in snow from the Cajon Pass to Colorado Springs.
