LA's a big place, ranging from very nice and expensive to total ghetto. What does 3,000 refer to? I assume its dollars but do you mean you want to live here making $3,000/mo? Spend $3,000/mo on housing? Vacation here for a week or two on $3,000?

You can do and see a lot for $3,000 (assuming plane tix are already purchased).

I'd say fly into Los Angeles. Spend a few days there. Then drive up the coast to San Francisco. Make a stop in Santa Barbara or Big Sur (even for an hour or two). Then continue on to San Fran. and stay there for a night or two (assuming your money isn't gone yet). You won't forget it.

If you don't mind me saying so, for a "future author" your spelling of proper names is atrocious.
