I have lived in my neighborhood for 6 months and the construction site of a Holiday Inn Express has gone on for the whole time. I understand they have a right to build, but the noise has gone on 7 days a week starting at 7:00. Which I understand is allowable by law at 7:00am and after. But 7 days a week??? This week my husband called the police and they informed us it was unlawful to work on the site on Sunday. They came, the police, bless them, 1/2 an hour later, and shut the whole work crew down. Finally quiet for a day. But the whole thing will start up tomorrow. Can't they start later in the morning? Such thoughtlessness.
Can I lodge a complaint with the city, and if so , who do I contact?

If the law says they can start work at 7:00 a.m., there's nothing you can do, to my knowledge. I'm sorry you have to deal with that, though; it would drive me nuts, too!

Thanks for the note. They also worked on Thanksgiving, and if I would have thought of it, I would have called the police then too!

Thank you so much! The noise has caused me health problems. I bought ear plugs and they help.

I called the police department and found out the actual laws on construction site work. Mon-Fri they may work 7:00am-9:00pm. Saturday 8:00am-6:00pm. NO SUNDAYS ...NO HOLIDAYS. Call the police if this is not taken seriously.

Permits are not without time limits. I dont know what the time limits are, but they do exist.
