There were some really hot temps today w/ Santa Ana at 90F & the minimum temp in Malibu was 76 & lows near 70F in part of the San Fernando valley, as well. Like others have stated, mid-winter heat waves are common in SoCal but it appears it will stay hot for quite a while. We desperately need rain!

we just had plenty of rain. the wettest weather is usually in late winter/early spring anyways, so its not like we're out of the norm

I am enjoying it, too.
It was 71 degrees at 5 PM and an even warmer 72 degrees at 10:30 PM!

Don't count on it. The weather service reported what others have been suggesting that the tropical Pacific is in a La Nina phase. Last year it was wet until La Nina strengthened in Feb [after that not a drop of rain other than isolated thunderstorms until November]. Every month counts in our rain seasons & January is normally a reliable wet month.

Didn't all those tree huggers tell us this was happening. Global warming is real. What are we going to do about it?

Guess I will contemplate that at the pool this evening after work.
